Data deletion instructions
How to have your data removed from TicAte. There is no charge, you do not need an account, and we complete every verified request within 30 days.
Which applies to you?
| You are… | Go to |
|---|---|
| Someone who messaged a business on WhatsApp | Section 1 |
| A business using TicAte for your team | Section 2 |
| Someone who filled in a form on this website | Section 3 |
1. You messaged a business on WhatsApp
The business you messaged decides what happens to your data — we only hold it on their behalf. You have two routes, and both work.
Route A — ask the business directly (fastest)
Reply to the WhatsApp thread and ask them to delete your data. Any agent can remove your contact record and the whole conversation from inside TicAte in a few seconds, and that deletion is immediate and permanent.
Route B — ask us
Email privacy@ticate.com or message +91 94865 24315 with:
The WhatsApp number you messaged from
In full international format, for example +91 98765 43210. This is how your records are indexed, so we cannot find you without it.
The business you were messaging
Their name or their WhatsApp number, if you know it. If you don’t, say so — we will search every workspace holding your number.
The words “delete my data”
So there is no ambiguity about what you are asking for. You do not need to give a reason.
What happens next
| When | What we do |
|---|---|
| Within 5 working days | We acknowledge your request and verify the number is yours, usually by sending a confirmation code to it. |
| Within 30 days | We identify every workspace holding your number, instruct those businesses, and delete your records. |
| On completion | We confirm in writing what was deleted and from where. |
| Within 65 days | Your data has also aged out of our encrypted backups. |
What gets deleted
- Your contact record — number, profile name, and anything the business added such as name, email, company, tags, notes and custom fields.
- Every message you sent or received in that conversation.
- All media you sent — images, documents, audio and video.
- Your emoji reactions.
- Any deal or pipeline entry linked to your contact.
- Your entries in broadcast recipient lists.
What we may have to keep, and why
We will tell you if any of this applies to your request:
- Records the business must keep by law — for example a completed transaction subject to Indian tax or accounting rules. The business decides this, not us, and it is limited to what the law requires.
- Your number on a suppression list, if you asked to stop receiving messages. We keep the number alone, so the business cannot message you again by mistake. You can ask us to remove that too, but then nothing stops a future message.
- Copies held by Meta. WhatsApp message delivery runs on Meta’s infrastructure under Meta’s own retention rules. Deleting from TicAte does not delete Meta’s copy or the copy on the business’s phone. For those, contact WhatsApp directly.
2. You are a business using TicAte
Delete individual records yourself
- One contact — open the contact and choose Delete. This removes the contact, its conversation, its media, its notes and its custom field values.
- One conversation — delete it from the inbox, keeping the contact record.
- Media — delete an individual message to remove its attachment from storage.
These deletions are immediate and cannot be undone, so export anything you need first.
Delete your entire workspace
Email privacy@ticate.com from the workspace owner’s registered address with the workspace name and the words “delete my workspace”.
| When | What we do |
|---|---|
| Within 2 working days | We confirm the request with the owner, and offer you a full export. |
| After 7 days | A grace period, in case the request was a mistake or an ex-employee sent it. |
| Within 30 days | Every message, contact, media file, automation, template and user account in the workspace is permanently deleted. |
| Within 65 days | The workspace has aged out of all encrypted backups. |
Stop the data flow immediately
If you want the flow of new data to stop right now, without waiting for deletion: disconnect the number in Settings → Channels, or revoke TicAte’s access from Meta Business Manager. Either takes effect at once. Your existing data stays until you also ask for deletion.
Self-hosting TicAte on your own servers? Then your data was never on our infrastructure, and deletion is entirely in your hands — drop the database and the storage directory.
3. You filled in a form on this website
Email privacy@ticate.com from the address you used, and we will delete your enquiry within 30 days. Otherwise enquiries are deleted automatically after 24 months.
Still stuck?
If a request has gone unanswered, escalate it to privacy@ticate.com with “escalation” in the subject line, and it goes straight to whoever is accountable here. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local supervisory authority in the EU or UK.
See our Privacy Policy for the full detail of what we collect and why.
